Culinary Delights at Café das Flores
A trip to Inhotim wouldn’t be complete without trying the famous pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) crafted by local chef Daílde Marinho. Born in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Daílde has spent years perfecting her family’s recipe. Her pão de queijo combines five different types of cheese, including the iconic Queijo Canastra, delivering a mouthwatering explosion of flavors.
Daílde isn’t just famous for her cheese bread—she's the mastermind behind all the kitchens at Inhotim, including the renowned Tamboril Restaurant, where her gourmet dishes, like lamb with pear and passionfruit, steal the show. Her signature? Fresh, homemade flavors that captivate both locals and international visitors.
What is Pão de Queijo?
For those unfamiliar, pão de queijo is a cherished Brazilian treat made from cassava flour and cheese. Originating in Minas Gerais, it’s more than just a snack—it’s a cultural symbol, served at breakfast or with a warm afternoon coffee. Its crispy exterior and soft, chewy interior make it irresistible, whether you're Brazilian or experiencing it for the first time.
The Cheese Bread You Can’t Resist
At Café das Flores, Daílde’s pão de queijo comes in two irresistible versions: the traditional or one stuffed with succulent pork, both accompanied by a spicy pepper jelly. The fun twist? It’s always served in pairs because, trust us, one just isn’t enough. Once you take that first bite, with its crunchy crust and cheesy goodness, you'll see why it's impossible to stop at one.
Whether you come for the art, the nature, or simply for the delicious pão de queijo, Inhotim promises an unforgettable sensory journey. So, grab a friend, explore this incredible destination, and indulge in the best flavors Brazil has to offer!
